You can manually rate the sentiment Media Items on a 5-point scale. Positive, Trending Positive, Balanced, Trending Negative, Negative.

Simply click on the face/sentiment rating and then use the radio button to manually assign the sentiment for the article.

By hovering your cursor over the sentiment score, you’ll see if/when that article was last rated along with the name of the user who analysed the media item (if applicable).

This information is also visible when you click onto the sentiment rating.

Analyzing multiple items

To analyse multiple media items, select List View and click the relevant selection boxes next to each media item. Alternatively, use the select all option at the top left. When you have selected the media items, click the face icon and choose the sentiment rating using the face icon.

Filtering by Sentiment

You can filter by Sentiment using the funnel icon in Stream View and selecting the sentiment you would like to include/exclude by clicking on the face icons.

To filter in List View, click on the Content option and then enable Sentiment as mentioned previously.

Reporting with Sentiment

You can visualize your sentiment rating in graph form via Sentiment Breakdown and Sentiment Timeline in Instant Insights which can then be exported. (TIP You may need to adjust the date range to include all relevant rated content.)

Should you wish to create a Curated Email Report, PDF Mention Stream Report or CSV Mention Stream Report for a rated Mention Stream, sentiment analysis will be displayed in the output depending on your selection. On the right is an example of how sentiment data displays in a CSV report.
