Begin your search by typing your search parameters into the search field. By default, your search will run across the following keyword types for the Journalist/Outlet.

  • Name

  • Job Role

  • Profile

  • Email

  • Address

“All Results' will default, allowing you to view results that include both journalists and outlets. The ‘Journalists’ tab will display all journalists, related to the keyword your are searching. While the ‘Outlets’ tab will display all outlets, related to the keyword you are searching.

You can select all results or choose them individually. After selecting, you will be prompted to view your selections or clear all selections.

Sorting options are also available, based on each tab. Search results displayed under 'All Results' will be sorted by 'Relevance' that best match your search query. Results that match your search query the most closely will be displayed at the top. When searching for 'Journalists', sorting options will include: name, job role, and popularity. 'Outlet' sorting options include name, media type, circulation, frequency, and popularity.

Journalist/Outlet information is displayed next to each result. Typically you will find the journalist job role, their location, the Outlet they work for and the sector(s) they write about, average engagement and top reactions to social posts. You can find out more about a Contact or Outlet by clicking on the preview button. The preview will contain the basic profile information for the journalist, a feed of their articles, their X feed and lists the journalist is on.

The filtering panel is a great way to filter through your results and indicates the number of categories you have leveraged.

Talking About - Find journalists by the keywords they’re talking about on X or in their news articles. Type in a word, hashtag or phrase and the results on the left of the screen will update to show Journalists who have talked about those terms. You can add multiple terms and either search any or search all.

Physical Location - Show results based on the country of the contact.

Coverage Area - Show results based on the geographical area media content is available in.

When your search requires location, try the ‘Physical Location’ filter to find journalists and outlets in specific countries. The ‘Coverage Area’ filter is an additional location filter, which allows searching by town, city, and area. NOTE: the ‘Coverage Area’ filter should be used when you are looking for journalists or outlets whose content is consumed in these areas. National outlets are excluded and contacts are typically associated with multiple geographies.

For users within the United States, searching by State is available using the Physical Locations filter.
