New Data Management Workflow in Cision Social Listening Overview
Cision is expanding source access in Cision Social Listening (CSL), the world’s largest database of online conversations, to help communications professionals holistically understand your brand reputation in the social space. Through the addition of non-owned business and creator tracking on Instagram, one of most popular social media platforms, Cision is making it easier for you to manage and report on your social media outcomes all in one place.
Cision’s expanded social content provider partnerships enhances the comprehensive collection of social data sources we offer to help you manage your brand reputation and easily track your social campaign performance.
The ‘Authentication tokens’ and ‘Data sources’ sections within CSL settings is combined into one new ‘Data Management’ section, which streamlines your access to all of the information about your synced social media accounts, non-owned social accounts, affiliated hashtags and topics you are tracking in one place.
This workflow includes fewer steps for you to start tracking social media data across two of the most popular social media platforms – Facebook and Instagram.
Tracking Non-Owned Instagram Data Sources
You can now track data from non-owned Instagram accounts to gain a much more comprehensive view of conversations happening across the social media landscape.
After setting up tracking for a non-owned Instagram page in the settings, you can view public creator and business account feeds that include posts and captions. (Comment monitoring is not included for non-owned Instagram account coverage at this time).
Through this new update, you can also access the Meta API to track engagement on non-owned Instagram profiles or pages in Cision Social Listening in both Quick Search and Saved Search Dashboards, Mention Panels, and Reports.
Additionally, you can upload non-owned Facebook and Instagram pages in bulk, giving you the ability to easily expand the social sources you are monitoring within the platform and offers an even more enhanced look at your social conversations.

Collecting and Viewing LinkedIn Data with Cision Social Listening
Using Cision Social Listening, you can now monitor posts/comments on your owned LinkedIn business pages. You are required to authenticate with your LinkedIn business page credentials, which then allows you to bring in owned posts and comments, and anonymized audience comments that can then be viewed in Dashboards alongside other data sources. You’ll be able to monitor all of your business pages in one place and benchmark your content’s performance on LinkedIn vs other channels, such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
To get started with monitoring owned business LinkedIn pages, you need to create LinkedIn authentication tokens for your LinkedIn business pages and then add the owned LinkedIn page(s) you want to track as Targeted Data Sources, then add those pages to your Saved Searches. This allows Cision Social Listening to collect all the data you’re interested in and return the most relevant results for your search queries.
Note: To authenticate your LinkedIn account, you must have Super Admin privileges for the LinkedIn profile. Re-authentication will be required should you change your password.
To collect and view owned LinkedIn data, complete the following steps:

2. Add Owned LinkedIn Pages You're Monitoring to Saved Searches:
After selecting which LinkedIn pages to monitor, you then need to add those pages to your Saved Searches in Cision Social Listening. There are three options to view LinkedIn Data within a Saved Search, which are discussed below.
A. To View Standalone LinkedIn Data:
Note: This process will create a temporary special Saved Search that will allow you to view mentions for that LinkedIn data source once. However, you can review standalone LinkedIn data from the Data Management section at any time.
Click on the LinkedIn pages tab in the Data Management section.
Hover over the table row with the desired LinkedIn data source you would like to create a saved search for, and click on the Explore icon.
While this special Saved Search cannot be edited, the "Keyword" filter on the left of your dashboard can be used to narrow down specific terms.
Since this is is similar to a Saved Search, you will see data for the previous year, however, since it is a temporary special Saved Search, it will not be available in your Saved Searches section.
However, you can navigate to the Data Management section and click on the Explore icon at any time to view standalone LinkedIn data.
B. To Compare LinkedIn Data to Another Owned Channel in a New Saved Search:
Note: This process will create a new Saved Search that will count towards your total number of allowed Saved Searches.
In the Data Management section, open the tab for either a Facebook or Instagram page.
Hover over the data source you want to compare your LinkedIn data to, and click on the Explore icon.
This will create a Quick Search for the selected channel, using the channel ID that is unique to that social page. Click on the Save Search button, in order to add LinkedIn data.
Once the search has been saved, LinkedIn data can be added by clicking on the LinkedIn icon to the left of the date range in the upper-right of the screen, then selecting the LinkedIn pages you would like to add. Then, click on the Save button.
You can add additional Saved Searches for other owned data sources by clicking on the +ADD SAVED SEARCH button.
C. To Compare LinkedIn Data to Other Owned Channels in an Existing Saved Search:
Note: This will not create a new saved search. Instead, it will add LinkedIn data to an existing Saved Search that is already counted towards your total number of allowed saved searches.
In the Saved Searches tab, select the Saved Search you would like to add LinkedIn data to.
Click on the LinkedIn icon to add the owned LinkedIn pages you would like to monitor in that Saved Search.
Check the box(es) for the LinkedIn pages you would like to add to the Saved Search, then click on the Save button.
Note: You will only see the pages that you previously added as targeted data sources.
To add or remove LinkedIn pages from a Saved Search:
Click on the Pencil Icon in the Saved Search to edit your search.
Check the box(es) for the LinkedIn page(s) you would like to add or Un- check the box(es) for the page(s) you would like to remove.
Click on the Save button.
If you would like to save the changes you've made to your original saved search, click on the Save button.
If you would like to keep the original search and save your changes as a new saved search, click on the Save as New Search button.
3. View the LinkedIn Data in Your Dashboard:
Once LinkedIn pages have been added, they will be included as an additional search within the widgets on your dashboard, similar to the results of a multi-search.
Widgets will show LinkedIn data as an aggregate of the dataset for that saved search, except for the "Mention Volume Over Time" widget, which will show LinkedIn data as a separate search source.
LinkedIn mentions will appear in your Saved Search results and you can filter for LinkedIn mentions, just as you can for other social media platforms.
