Instant Insights

Instant Insights makes it easy to track, analyse, and share media performance data.

Here’s everything you need to know to get started.

What is Instant Insights?

Instant Insights is where we can:

  • Build and customise dashboards

  • Apply advanced filters for deeper analysis

  • View monitoring and social data side by side

  • Share dashboards with your team or external stakeholders

From here, you can:

  • Choose a name for the Dashboard

  • Add an optional description

  • Select the date range

  • Add your first chart (the Add Chart button is always visible at the top of your dashboard)

Click on +Add Chart

A list of available charts will appear on the right of the screen

Click on the chart name you'd like to add and the charts will appear on your dashboard.

You'll find detailed Instant Insight chart descriptions by reading this chart descriptions article.

Filtering Dashboards

Media Types:

We can filter by Online, Print, TV, Radio, Magazine and Podcast.

The Media Type filter also gives us the option to set a location filter. For example, if you want a dashboard for specific markets/regions, you can add them here.

Use the Apply to all Media Types applicable button to update the other media types you're using in your dashboard.

We can filter by Categories and Domain Authority.

Sources:

  • Keyword - include/exclude specific keywords

  • Location - the location of the Source of the coverage

  • Sector - the publication's sector

  • Source Group - sources are grouped by their publisher. For example, BBC would yield results for all BBC outlets such as BBC One, BBC Two, etc.

  • Media Type - Online or Print for example.

Once the filter(s) has been applied, you will see any matching coverage displayed and at the top right, you’ll see how many pieces of coverage match your criteria.

Content:

NLA or CLA Content - tick/untick as appropriate

Language - include/exclude specific languages

Tag - include/exclude specific tags

Author - coverage by specific journalist(s)

Word Count - minimum/maximum for words in the article

Page Number - range of pages the article appeared on

Date Range:

Preset date ranges are available on the left or we can use the calendar option on the right for bespoke dates.

React score models are grouped into 4 higher level categories for ease of analysis: controversy, emotionality, harm & spam.

Other:

We can exclude External Items (coverage we’ve added to CisionOne manually). Alternatively, we can only show External Items in our results.

Downloads

The Downloads area is where we'll find exported dashboards.

The Generate button at the top right will give us the option to generate a PDF or XLSX document. The generated reports will be available in the Downloads option on the left of the screen.

The Downloads screen gives us the option to view previously downloaded dashboards as well as:

Archive - move the dashboard to the Archived area

These are our favourites/starred dashboards. To Star a dashboard, click on the star icon next to the dashboard's name.
