To ensure we are delivering content that is relevant to you, Cision surfaces content that fits your search terms. It is important for you to refine your searches so that only the content that is relevant to you is viewable in your search results. When you create a mention stream or edit search parameters for print articles, this acts as a set of instructions to our internal systems to monitor Cision’s Print media repertoire for relevant coverage.
To limit exposure to unwanted content, we restrict the headline and other information subject to copyright, and only report on the articles that you actively push into a report or click to access. But note that, content made available in a search set up by one user may be recounted in our reporting if it is made available in a unique search set up by another user in your organization.
Here are some helpful tips for setting up refined searches -
When creating a mention stream be sure to be as specific as possible in your choice of keywords or boolean. Please also review the Boolean Search Tutorial.
Be sure to enter any keyword exclusions you think are likely to be associated with your keywords but aren’t relevant for your purposes.
Filters will streamline your results even further, so don’t forget to select content matching and case-sensitive, as well as exclude any sources you don’t require.
In reports, refine your preference selection on the Scheduled Report by using the advanced options to select to receive online mentions instead of print mentions when there is a related online mention with matching keywords.
Here are some helpful tips to ensure content availability is limited to those who need it -
Avoid duplicate searches across your organization.
Share content selectively (to those who need it).
Scroll through search results with the understanding that all content made accessible to you will be reported for copyright purposes.
