AI Pitches help you create media pitches in Outreach using CisionOne’s AI-assisted workflow.
Starting a Pitch
You can start an AI Pitch anywhere you can create a media release in Outreach.
Start from the Outreach launchpad
Go to the Outreach launchpad.
Select Create Pitch.
Start from Outreach Search
In Outreach Search, select one or more journalists or outlets.
Select the dropdown arrow next to Add to list in the upper-right corner.
Select Create Pitch.
Start after adding contacts to a list
After you add contacts to a list, CisionOne displays a pop-up where you can choose to send a media release or create a pitch.
To close the pop-up without creating a pitch, select the close button (X).
Start from the Lists tab
You can also create a pitch from the Lists tab after selecting the list you want to use.
Start from the Activities tab
You can create a pitch from the Activities tab by clicking the dropdown beside Create Activity and selecting Create Pitch.
Note: You can also add Launchpad to the left-hand panel in CisionOne for quick access to Outreach. From there, you can start your AI Pitch using any of the methods listed above.
To learn how to add Launchpad to your CisionOne screen, see How do I add a Launchpad option to my CisionOne screen?
How do I add recipients to an AI Pitch?
Add recipients to the pitch under the Recipients tab.
When you have added all recipients, select Next in the lower-right corner.
To add a custom recipient, enter their details and select Add.
If you selected a list before opening this page, the recipients from that list are added automatically.
Note: Custom recipients can be added to an AI Pitch, but their information does not appear in the personalization step.
How do I generate pitch content with AI?
Enter a prompt in the AI Prompt field.
Use at least 14 words so CisionOne can generate a more accurate and relevant pitch.
Review the generated pitch and subject line.
If you have already entered a subject manually, AI does not replace it.
Select Next when you are ready to personalize the pitch.
Templates override the AI input and response options.
How do I edit an AI-generated pitch?
Use the AI menu to refine the generated pitch:
Try Again: Regenerates the pitch using the last prompt sent to AI.
Change Tone: Applies a built-in tone to better match your brand's voice.
Use the pitch: Keeps the AI-generated pitch so you can continue editing manually.
Discard: Deletes the AI-generated pitch.
Each time you create a new version of the pitch, use the arrows in the lower-right corner to toggle through different versions.
How do I personalize a pitch?
Select a journalist information card to move between recipients.
Review the pitch for each recipient.
Edit each pitch as needed.
Use Ask AI to personalize an individual pitch.
When a pitch has been edited and personalized, CisionOne adds a Personalized tag.
Each recipient pitch is stored separately, so edits to one recipient pitch do not automatically update the others.
How do I send an AI Pitch?
Review the pitch content.
Confirm the title for reporting.
Choose who you want to send the pitch as.
Select the visibility setting.
Choose when to send the pitch: Send Now or Schedule Later
Select notification options.
Add tags as needed.
Send the pitch.
You can send a test pitch before sending the final version. Test pitches are not personalized.
FAQs
How does AI generate the pitch?
CisionOne uses ChatGPT with custom prompts to generate pitch drafts. The pitch workflow presents results in a guided view, so you can move forward and backward between draft versions as you refine the pitch.
Who can I pitch to?
You can pitch journalists and outlets in the database. You can also add custom recipients, but CisionOne does not show additional recipient information for custom recipients during the personalization step.
How are pitch emails sent?
Pitch emails are sent through Cision’s servers, the same way media releases are sent. This allows CisionOne to track email statistics and route replies to the inbox selected by the user.
Where can I find pitch statistics?
You can find pitch statistics in Activities. Pitch reporting uses the same format as media release reporting.
