Overview

This guide explains how LinkedIn content is surfaced in Social Listen, helping you monitor your brand, track engagement, and analyze audience perception.

Availability for mentions and shares depends on when your LinkedIn integration was added.

Key Benefits

Monitor Owned Content: Track posts, comments, and replies from your integrated LinkedIn accounts.
Brand Insights: Gain a complete view of how your brand is being perceived by your audience.

Mentions and Shares of Integrated LinkedIn Accounts

Social Listen can surface LinkedIn posts where your integrated LinkedIn account is mentioned or where one of your owned posts is shared.

Availability rules

  • Mentions and shares are available only from the date the integration is added, or 10 February 2026, whichever is later.

  • Historical mentions and shares before the integration date are not available.

  • These rules apply only to accounts you have connected to the platform.

How External LinkedIn Mentions and Shares Are Captured

CisionOne identifies LinkedIn content that appears on public websites and surfaces it in your social stream.

This includes:

  • Embedded LinkedIn posts

  • Links to LinkedIn posts within articles

  • Publicly republished or quoted LinkedIn text

For each detected mention, Social Listen extracts:

  • The referring website URL

  • A preview snippet (when available)

  • A link to the original LinkedIn post

  • Any publicly exposed metadata (e.g., author name, timestamp)

This feature does not pull engagement metrics from LinkedIn. Only information available on the external webpage is shown.

Posts and comments from your integrated LinkedIn accounts are available for the past 90 days from the date the integration is added.

Mentions and Shares of Integrated Accounts

Available only from the integration date, or 10 February 2026, whichever is later.

No 90-day historical look‑back applies.

Public LinkedIn Content on External Websites

Captured whenever it appears publicly on the web.

Not dependent on integration date.

Social Features

All existing social features work with LinkedIn content:

  • Actions: Push content internally to a team, tag, or remove irrelevant content.

  • Reports: Include LinkedIn content in PDF and CSV social stream reports.

  • Analyse: View LinkedIn content in all charts within the Analyse dashboard.

  • Notifications: LinkedIn content appears in any notifications set up for the social stream.

FAQs

Q: How often is content refreshed?
A: Posts are polled every 5 minutes, so they should appear almost immediately. Comments may take up to four hours due to LinkedIn rate limits.

Q: Why can’t I see anything in the preview when creating a social stream?
A: Data ingestion can take up to four hours. You can either wait or create the social stream and monitor as content flows in.

Q: Do deleted posts get removed from the social stream?
A: Deleted LinkedIn posts are not tracked. Once ingested, they remain visible in the social stream.

Q: Which languages are supported?
A: Most languages are supported for your integrated LinkedIn account. You can test specific content to confirm.

Q: Can I limit an integration to only Engage?
A: Yes. Choose which integrations are used in Listen/Analyse versus Engage by checking or unchecking the relevant boxes.
