FAQs
Q: How often are @mentioned posts and comments fetched for TikTok?
A: Posts where the integrated account was mentioned should appear almost instantly. For comments, it can take up to 2 hours for the mentioned comment to show in the platform. This aligns with TikTok documentation.
Q: Will @mentions be surfaced for both business and personal accounts?
A: @mentioned posts and comments are only available for business accounts, not personal accounts. This limitation is enforced by TikTok.
Q: Why do some posts have an anonymous author?
A: When fetching a mentioned comment, TikTok also provides the parent post. The author of this parent is anonymous because TikTok does not provide this information. You can click the post to view the author in the TikTok app.
Q: Why do I see a placeholder video thumbnail on @mentioned comments?
A: When a mentioned comment is fetched, we also fetch the parent post. TikTok does not provide the thumbnail image of the parent video, so a placeholder thumbnail is displayed. This is a TikTok API limitation.
