How to enable two-factor authentication

While CisionOne handles limited to no personal data on its customers behalf, we do service and work with some of the largest corporate and government departments. The security of users, the topics and issues they monitor and access to licensed content require us to take extra steps to protect access to CisionOne - which is why we've introduced two-factor authentication.

What is Two-factor Authentication?

Two-factor Authentication (2FA) is a security system that requires two separate, distinct forms of authentication in order to access a website or platform and is now commonly used across many technology services. In the case of CisionOne, the first 'factor' is your CisionOne PIN, and the second factor is a code that can be received via Email, SMS or through QR Code.

Setting up your Two-factor Authentication

You can enable two-factor authentication within the CisionOne platform by selecting Account from the drop-down menu next to your initials and clicking on 'Security'.

From here, you can choose 'SMS', 'Email' or 'QR Code' to authenticate your account. Once you have chosen your preferred method, select Save.

To finalise two-factor authentication, you will need to use the code sent to you via SMS or Email or scan the QR Code and enter the code provided. You will then be sent a code via your preferred authentication method to verify.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I don't have an authenticator app?
You can receive your authentication code via your nominated email address or mobile number instead.

Can I 'opt out' of 2FA?
No - the security of Streem's platform, the content we license and the organisations we work for require that 2FA is activated within your account.

How often will I have to enter an authentication code?
You will need to enter your authentication code every time you access your CisionOne account.

Can my Account Manager set-up 2FA for me?
No - Account Managers are unable to assist you in setting up 2FA as this is an authentication that takes place between you/your device and CisionOne only. No other person should have access to this authentication code(s).
