Viewing broadcast coverage

When you click on a broadcast clip, a pop-up window appears. The pop-up shows information on the name of the media outlet and the time of the broadcast.

In the example below, a TV clip shows the name of the Media Outlet along with broadcast time/date,

Below there is a play button on the video thumbnail. There are also forward/back and volume controls.

The right of the screen shows an Actions panel:

Edit Broadcast - lets us make changes to the clip start/end point. We can also archive coverage and it to our Media centre.

Archived content is also formatted to be in the same popup as the full broadcast content. Users can use the “View Full Broadcast” button visible in the right panel to access the full broadcast. In case the content is a full broadcast clip, if there is an associated archived clip, the users can view this via the “View Archived Clip” action in the right panel.

View Transcript - view the entire clip transcript.

Push to Team - share the content with other users in your CisionOne account.

Share - share the content via a private link or share via email.

Curated email report - add the content to an existing Curated Report or create a new one.

Tag - manually tag the content with a new or existing one.

Underneath the Actions, the Media Insights area shows any available metrics for the content.

Editing broadcast coverage

The Editor option is where we edit the coverage to set a start/end time to create an Instant Play link or archive the coverage. The example below shows a clip which was broadcast at 00:39am. Using the editor, the clip start time has been changed to start at 00:40:00 and the end to 00:41:00. The new duration of the clip is shown along with the option to preview the edited clip.

Note: Broadcast clips can be up to 10 minutes in duration.

By clicking the next button, we can choose a destination for the clip.

Instant Play - these are instantly playable clips which will start and end at the time we chose in the Editor.

Archive - this moves the clip into the Media archive.

To access archived coverage, click on Media from the options on the left of the screen.

The media archive will default to the last 30 days, but you can change the date range by clicking on the ‘Last 30 Days' and then selecting a new date range.

The ellipsis button lets us view the full media item, Push to Team or Share.

Archived coverage displays a similar Actions panels but this time we can view the full broadcast or replace the archived clip.

The article card for archived clips will have the option to view the full broadcast clip should you or other users wish to view it.

Broadcast coverage which has expired will contain a blue label highlighting the coverage has expired.

FAQs

Q: Can I archive podcast content?

A: No. Podcast content cannot be archived. Only TV and Radio content can be archived.

Q: Why is the Edit Broadcast button disabled?

A: The Edit Broadcast button can be disabled in two cases. The first is if the content has expired. The button is disabled here as it is not possible to clip up expired content. The second is when a full broadcast clip has already been archived. In this case you would have to remove the existing archived clip to edit the broadcast again or you can use the “Replace Archived Clip” available in the archived clip popup to archive a new clip.

Q: What is the length of the transcript available for my archived clip?

A: When you have archived a clip, the transcript available for the clip will always be the full transcript of the original 5 minute clip. Even if your archived clip contains content beyond those 5 minutes, that part of the transcript will not be available. It is always going to be the transcript of the original clip.
