Viewing Mention Items and Sentiment Ratings
When you select the Monitoring module in CisionOne, you can view Mention Stream View for a group, the default view option. A group can contain several mention streams, each displaying its Mention Items (also referred to as a media item) as cards. Each stream's cards are arranged together in a single column.
In Mention Stream View, each mention card displays:
Headline, source name, and publication date
Key metrics: Audience, AVE, Sentiment rating, React Score, Impact Score, and Social Amplify
Sentiment Rating for CisionOne is automated and generated by our AI models. It can be manually overridden. When you manually override the sentiment rating for a mention item, it will be reflected for all users in the organization. By hovering your cursor over the sentiment rating in any individual mention card, you'll see if and when that article was last rated, along with the name of the user who rated the item (if applicable).
Updating the Sentiment Rating
You can manually rate the sentiment of Mention Items on a 5-point scale: Positive, Trending Positive, Balanced, Trending Negative, Negative.
For individual mention item (article)
To update the sentiment rating of the mention item:
Select the face icon showing the current sentiment in the mention card. A pop-up window will open, showing the Sentiment Rating field with its associated dropdown. It will also show the list of entities (e.g., location, brand, person, or organization) detected in the article and their sentiment ratings.
2. Manually adjust the sentiment rating of the article by selecting a new one from the dropdown.
Note: Entity-level sentiment is generated automatically and currently cannot be manually overridden. Manual sentiment rating as described above applies only at the Mention Item (whole article) level.
For multiple mention items
To bulk update the sentiment rating for multiple mention items:
Switch to List View using the List View icon in the top header.
Select the checkboxes to the left of each mention item or use the "Select all" option in the top left to select every item on the page.

Reporting with Sentiment

Tip: You may need to adjust the date range to include all relevant rated content.
Should you wish to create a Curated Email Report, PDF Mention Stream Report, or CSV Mention Stream Report for a rated Mention Stream, sentiment analysis at the article level will be displayed in the output according to the report type you choose. Below is an example of how sentiment data is displayed in a CSV report.
