Mention Stream reports allow you to collate all coverage and topline insights from a dedicated Mention Stream, over a specific reporting period. These PDF and CSV reports can also be filtered and sorted as required, and can be generated on-demand.
Note: Mention Stream reports can be generated for one Mention Stream at a time - it's currently not possible to generate Mention Stream reports for multiple Mention Streams.
Generating a PDF or CSV Mention Stream Report
Access Mention Stream reports via one of the following routes:
Via Launchpad (beta): select Report within the Monitoring section or the Graph icon in the top right hand corner of your Launchpad Mention stream.
Via Monitoring> Launchpad: select the Graph icon in the top right-hand corner of your Launchpad Mention Stream.
Via Monitoring> Mention Streams: select the Graph icon in the top right-hand corner of any Mention Stream.
Via Monitoring> Reports Tab: select Mention Stream Report.
Generate the report using the default Stream or use the drop-down menu to select an alternative Mention Stream.
Select your date range.
Select or de-select media types to include or exclude specific media categories.
Select Sort by and order from the Sorting dropdowns.
Access the Advanced Filters for further filtering options.
Select PDF, CSV/Excel or PDF and CSV/Excel report format.
Note: if Mentions have been chosen as an output, the number of mentions shown will depend on the report format chosen:
PDF format: where reports exceed 1,000 items, only the first 1,000 mentions will appear in the report.
Excel/CSV format: where reports exceed 10,000 items, only the first 10,000 mentions will appear in the report.
Charts are not impacted by this limit.
Select a Brand Profile to add a logo to the report if required.
Select your preferred output/s if PDF selected (Charts and Mentions, Charts only, Mentions only).
Select report display and content Options as required, these differ according to report format.
Add your own custom summary if required
Select your Language from the dropdown.
Select Generate PDF Report, or Generate Excel/CSV Report or Generate Reports as shown, based on selected Report type. The number shown in brackets is the total number of mentions for the report and filters selected.
You can now access your report via the Monitoring>Reports tab on the left-hand sidebar where you will be able to see your most recent reports, listed in chronological order.
Note: Pending reports which are still processing are marked with an ellipsis (…) in the Status column.
Once your report has processed, you can select PDF or CSV/Excel in the Status column to download it or select View online. You can also choose to Delete (trash icon) or Refresh (refresh icon) the report in the Actions column.
FAQs
Can I access and visualize sentiment information via PDF exports (including Mention Streams reports), email newsletters or curated reports?
Currently, sentiment information cannot be added to PDF exports, email newsletters, or curated reports. For detailed sentiment data, CSV/Excel formats or Instant Insights dashboards are recommended.
For sentiment visualization, Instant Insights provides an option to create dashboards and generate sentiment charts. Users can visualize trends and export these insights as PDFs for reporting.
What happens if I try to create a Mention Stream PDF format report that exceeds the 1,000 mentions limit?
You will see an warning message that your coverage exceeds the limit of items allowed. You can choose to either adjust your filters to reduce the coverage to the limit or continue to generate the report. If you choose to continue, only the first 1,000 items will appear. Charts are not impacted by the limit.
